The Anglican Chaplaincy of Midi Pyrenees and Aude has an excellent web site at www.escotc.com. Services are held across the border from Lot et Garonne at several locations and, in the same way that several of their regulars join us at Dondas, so are we all very welcome at the services.

The Intercontinental Church Society is an international mission agency and our patron without whom most of what we do in Aquitaine would not be possible.

The Church On The Net is the first church of its type and is a project of Holy Trinity Ripon in the Diocese of Ripon and Leeds. Its purpose is to reach people who have no contact with either God or the church. It assumes no existing knowledge and, by explaining Christian principles in an engaging way and to bring visitors to an understanding of Jesus and his church.

Sites which support us.

 

The Connexion. This English language newspaper provides a full listing of churches which hold services in English across France on their website www.connexionfrance.com as well as the times of forthcoming services.

  

French News.  This English language newspaper is also a very useful source of information on many subjects of interest to English speaking residents of France and it has lists of what’s on across the country.  Their web site address is: www.french-news.com

  

AngloInfo. This site has a range of pages where information on a wide variety of issues of interest to English speaking residents ranging from health issues, building regulations and funerals to legal and consumer matters. Their website is www.angloinfo.com/countries/france

  

Group 47. This is a newsletter of interest to English speakers living in the Lot et Garonne which is issued by Kevin Powell. It details a wide variety of activities from brocantes to Fish and Chip suppers as well as details of our services in Lot et Garonne. Reformation Tours. This site lists churches across Europe and organises tours of interest to Christians. It also has links to a large number of interesting sites. Try: www.reformationtours.com.

 

Specific Help

 

Cancer Support France. A charity dedicated to helping English-speaking cancer patients; it started in the Charente area and is now spreading into areas with large English speaking communities. Volunteers are professionally trained under the guidance of the MacMillan Cancer Support organisation. There are groups in the Dordogne and Lot and several nearby departements. Those in need of support can contact the group by telephone, wherever they live. Their national help line is on 05 53 54 46 67 and their website is www.cancersupportfrance.info.

Retired Service Personnel and Their Families. SSAFA looks after people with direct and indirect military links. They can be found via france@SSAFA.org.uk or by telephone to Liz Rolfe on 05 53 01 64 54

  

Hospital Visiting in Bordeaux. There is a network of English speaking volunteers in Bordeaux who visit people in Bordeaux hospitals, offering support and using their local knowledge to offer practical help.
