The
Intercontinental Church Society
Our
chaplaincy supports this international Anglican mission, which shares
the good news of Jesus Christ with people who speak English who
find themselves in countries where it is not the first language. ICS
has partnered the Aquitaine chaplaincy in its ministry since 1874
and is responsible for recruiting our chaplain. You can

The
Church On The Net is the first church of its type and is
a project of Holy Trinity Ripon in the Diocese of Ripon and Leeds. Its
purpose is to reach people who have no contact with either God or the
church. It assumes no existing knowledge and, by explaining Christian
principles in an engaging way and to bring visitors to an understanding
of Jesus and his church.

This site has a range of pages where information on a wide variety of
issues of interest to English speaking residents ranging from health
issues, building regulations and funerals to legal and consumer

This is a newsletter of interest to English speakers living in the Lot
et Garonne which is issued by Kevin Powell. It details a wide variety
of activities from brocantes to Fish and Chip suppers as well as

Reformation
Tours. This site lists churches across Europe and
organises tours of interest to Christians. It also has links to a large

Specific Help
Cancer Support
France. A charity dedicated to helping English-speaking
cancer patients; it started in the Charente area and is now spreading
into areas with large English speaking communities. Volunteers are
professionally trained under the guidance of the MacMillan Cancer
Support organisation. There are groups in the Dordogne and Lot and
several nearby departements. Those in need of support can contact the
group by telephone, wherever they live. Their national help line is on
05 53 54 46 67 and their website is www.cancersupportfrance.info.

Service Personnel and Their Families. SSAFA looks after
people with direct and indirect military links. They can be found via

Hospital
Visiting in Bordeaux. There is a network of English
speaking volunteers in Bordeaux who visit people in Bordeaux hospitals,
offering support and using their local knowledge to offer practical
help.

SOS
HELP Crisis line in English: 01 46 21 46 46
SOS
Help is a telephone listening service for the English-speaking
community in France. Trained listeners are available every day
of the year from 3pm to 11pm. The service is confidential and
anonymous. In addition to compassionate, non-directive
listening, we can provide information on community services and
community resources available to English-speaking callers. SOS
Help is staffed by volunteer listeners; other volunteers are involved
in community liaison, fund-raising and publicity. Volunteers
are always welcome, and should contact the above telephone number to
request further information about recruitment and training.
