Our members are drawn from the east and
central Dordogne.
Origins?
Originally a House Church, the
congregation has been meeting for 21 years in Limeuil, at first at the
Chapelle St Martin, but, for the last 14 years, at the Church of Ste
Catherine.
What?
Church of England forms of worship are
used for all services. Congregations of over 50 are usual
throughout the year, growing into the 100s for major festivals.
We are lucky to have a choir director and a good-sized choir, which
enhance the services at major festivals and Evensong each month.
There are many social events during the
year including quizzes, theme dinners and cabaret evenings, ceilidhs
and music evenings and motorised treasure hunts.
We are proud to say that we cater for
children on all these occasions.
Fellowship
Groups
These are
held fortnightly on Tuesday evenings and Thursday and Friday mornings
in the homes of members of the congregation. Each group is held
on a different day, at a different time and with a different format,
thereby allowing those interested to attend more than one group. The
groups are popular, lively, interesting and always welcoming to new
members, so if you would like further information about them, please
contact Jean Dix on 05 53 54 54 48 (Tuesday evening), Anne Penfold on
05 53 30 46 01 (Thursday morning) and Sue and Roger Cheale on 05 53
57 16 74 (Friday morning).

This
Chaplaincy youth group started in 2007, is run
for youngsters between the ages of 9 and 16, and takes place on
the 2nd Friday evening of every month at the Doudrac Salle des
Fêtes. The club is open to all nationalities, not just
English-speakers, and as well as many interesting activities and a
'bring & share supper', there is ample opportunity to meet new
people and make friends.

Bring
& Share lunches
The 4th
Sunday of each month we hold a 'Bring & Share' lunch at the
Limeuil Mairie and we welcome as many church members as
possible. Please just bring something very simple to
eat and share plus plate, knife, fork - and don't forget a
glass! For a very small donation of 2€, wine and bread is
provided, the excellent conversation comes free! We look
forward to seeing you there.
Charities
Our
charities for this year, in addition to our contribution to the
Chaplaincy-wide fund-raising, are:
Shelterbox
– an international disaster relief charity that delivers
emergency
shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by disaster worldwide.

They respond
instantly to
natural and man-made disasters by delivering boxes of aid to those
who are most in need. Each box costs an average of £490 including
all materials, packing, storage and distribution to individual
recipients worldwide. Based on six months use only this equates to 27
pence per person per day. Each box supplies an extended family of up
to 10 people with a tent and essential equipment to use while they
are displaced or homeless (www.shelterbox.org).
New Life,
India -
This charity was initially started by Kumar Swamy in 2001 and
formally registered in 2003 as ‘New Life in Christ Ministries
International’.
The
main focus of the Charity has been supporting and building
Children’s
homes in India. However, the charity has supported a host of other
projects there, such as starting three tailoring schools, drilling
for seven wells, funding cataract operations, and building homes and
Churches. The charity now has it’s biggest project so far. Some
land has been bought and a well dug on the land, and the intention is
now to build a children’s home on this land. The building work
will cost about £45,000, and when built, the children’s
home will
be run by local Indians for about 80 children, and will be partly
self supporting with land for growing food and for animals
(www.ilovetochange.org).
