Our members are drawn from Bordeaux and
the Gironde.
Origins?
We
have been meeting in the Chapelle de l’Assomption for over 20
years. Previously, services were held in St Nicholas Anglican Church.
The Chaplaincy celebrated 175 years in Bordeaux and Aquitaine in
2000.
What?
Church of England forms of worship are
used for all services. Congregations of over 30 are usual
throughout the year, growing to 50 for major festivals.
There is Sunday School on Holy Communion Sundays except
during school holidays.
We
offer support at times of difficulty. Over the years we have
developed a network of prayer and pastoral support for those in
particular need. A hospital visiting team is in place to help English
speakers who find themselves in Bordeaux hospitals.
Our choir rehearses from
October for the Christmas Carol service which is attended by more than
200 people.
